이슬람 최초 여성 노벨평화상 수상자 시린 에바디(Shirin Ebadi) 방한
이슬람 여성 최초로 2003년 노벨평화상을 수상한 이란의 인권 및 여성운동가 시린 에바디(62)변호사가 아시아기자협회 초청으로 8일 오후 인천공항을 통해 한국에 온다. 그는 최근 유럽, 미국 등지를 순방하며 이란 민주화운동을 지원하는 강연과 기자회견 등으로 언론의 주목을 받아왔으며, 독일 등 일부 서방언론들은 그를 '차기 이란 대통령'으로 지칭하고 있다.
그는 최근 재집권에 성공한 아마디네자드 대통령 정부에 의해 선거에 불복하고 반정부 시위를 주도한 혐의로 기소돼 테헤란 법정에서 재판이 진행 중이다.
시린 에바디 변호사는 9일 오전 천주교 서울교구청을 방문, 정진석 추기경을 면담하고, 세계평화 등에 대해 화를 나눌 예정이다. 그는 이어 오후 1시30분 서울 경동교회에서 종교간 대화 등을 주제로 강연을 한다.
이슬람교도가 기독교 교회에서 강연을 하는 것은 처음인 것으로 알려졌다. 시린 에바디 변호사는 이날 오후 서울 강남구 삼성동 봉은사를 방문해 명진 주지스님 등 신도들과 간담회를 한다.
시린 에바디 변호사는 10일 오전 국회에서 김형오 국회의장과 최근 이란 상황 등에 대해 간담회를 가질 예정이다.
그는 이날 오후 2시 서울 은평구 녹번동 한국여성의전화에서 열리는 '여성인권 특별세미나'에 참석해 특강을 하며, 이어 서울대병원소아청소년암센터를 방문한다.
시린 에바디 변호사는 이날 저녁 6시30분 서울 프레스센터에서 아시아기자협회(회장 이상기)와 만해사상실천선양회(이사장 조오현 스님) 주최로 열리는 '평화, 휴머니즘, 다양성, 비전'을 주제로 한 만찬에 참석한다.
그는 11일 오전 내외신 기자회견에 이어 서울 서초동 삼성전자를 방문한다. 시린 에바디는 12일 강원도 인제군 만해마을에서 열리는 2009년 만해대상(평화상)을 수상한 뒤 13일 오전 한국을 떠난다.
