그러나 2월 12일 이준희 회장이 제6대 회장 선거에 입후보 등록함에 따라서 김철관 수석부회장에게 회장 사퇴의사를 밝혔습니다.
이 회장은 "총회와 선거의 공정한 진행을 위해서 회장 직을 사퇴한다"고 밝혀 왔습니다.
이에 따라 한국인터넷기자협회는 규약에 의거해 김철관 수석부회장이 회장 직무대행을 수행하게 되었습니다.
